In your blog post, write about the affordances of the tools you explored.
Consider how and why that tool might be the best choice for you.

I tried to create an ePortfolio on a few other site, but I was unable to complete my task. There were too many tools and the process was confusing and time consuming. Although the students that I teach are 4 years old and they would not create an ePortfolio, Weebly would be a great tool for the upper grade students and students looking to create a portfolio for a future job. Weebly is a web building tool for those who are trying to create and personalize their own website for school or professional reasons.

I personally liked Weebly because of the easy process to create something that is as personal as your own ePortfolio. The tool bar is an affordance because it allows the creater to edit text, add pages, blogs, your resume, sound, and a host of other amenities that would otherwise be very difficult to complete. It was easy to connect my blog to the ePortfolio that I created by just adding a link.
I feel that students would be able to navigate and create a portfolio with ease and edit information when necessary using Weebly. Consider context.
Would you make a different choice of tool if you were asking your students to create
an ePortfolio? Why or why not? Discuss the affordances of these tools for others
in different contexts.

I would not choose any other tool to create a website. I did not have the affordance of a tool bar that was easily located on the other sites. I felt that Weebly was designed to the non-tech so that anyone could create a professional portfolio that could be updated at any time.

Foliotek is another eportfolio that I explored.  It is not a free site, and it is more difficult to manuvere than Weebly.  foliotek claims that it is easy to use and offers a wealth of time-saving features to help to eliminate barriers, however, I found it somewhat confusing.  The affordances of foliotek is that it is easily assessible anywhere, and individuals are able to update or change information as needed.  You have the affordance of having a tool bar that will allow you to add gizmos, files, additional pages, and and designs.
